Shameless self-promotion: Nobody murder trial

You are not hallucinating. There really is a nobody murder trial going on now. Okay, it's really a "no body" case, but Courttv.com named the link www.courttv.com/trials/news/0904/24_nobody_ctv.html. Ha ha, very funny.

What's the big deal about bodyless cases, anyway? Just because a body hasn't been found, it doesn't mean a crime never occurred.

Consider one of the first and most important "no body" cases: Jesus Christ's. Christians claim He rose from the dead and as proof, point to His missing body. The resurrection is a key crux of Christianty: only God could defeat death, and Christ predicted He would rise on the third day. If you want more details, Josh McDowell explains why the missing body is so important and addresses alternate possiblities (like maybe someone just stole the body).

In crime cases however, missing bodies mean...
  • There is no crime scene. (So you don't get to work with all the cool stuff in the picture above.)
  • You can't determine the cause of death.
  • You can't prove the person is dead.

If you look at the Court TV photo gallery, convicting people without a body is difficult but possible. But what about the current trial of Glyn Scharf? Did a paramedic who allegedly poisoned his wife's coffee actually kill her? Read my story and decide.

Glyn's son was my best friend in high school. Glyn was a firefighter and a good man, I remember him taking me and my friend to Weiner Works
